Beneficios de la Danza Movimiento Terapia (DMT) en la Psicoterapia: Una Revisión Sistemática

La Danza Movimiento Terapia (DMT) es una forma de psicoterapia que utiliza el movimiento y la danza para promover la integración emocional, cognitiva, física, espiritual y social del individuo. El objetivo de este artículo fue identificar los efectos de la DMT en el marco de la psicoterapia, relacionando sus beneficios en términos emocionales, físicos, mentales y de bienestar general. Se examinaron 177 estudios empíricos publicados entre 2019 y 2024 sobre la aplicación de la DMT en contextos psicoterapéuticos. Los resultados evidencian que la DMT es una modalidad integral que promueve la conexión mente-cuerpo y facilita la expresión no verbal de experiencias que trascienden el lenguaje. La evidencia respalda su eficacia en la reducción de síntomas de depresión, ansiedad y esquizofrenia, así como en el abordaje del trauma, el duelo, el autismo, la demencia y los trastornos de la personalidad. Se reportan beneficios en el bienestar general, la regulación emocional, la conciencia corporal y la cohesión social, tanto en intervenciones individuales como grupales, y en formatos presenciales y en línea (tele-DMT). Aunque se identifican limitaciones metodológicas, como la heterogeneidad de diseños y el sesgo geográfico hacia Israel y Estados Unidos, los hallazgos consolidan a la DMT como una intervención terapéutica versátil, culturalmente adaptable y con amplio potencial de desarrollo.
