Evolution of blood pressure in a submaximal strength training process

Getting sick by blood pressure significantly increases the risk of heart disease, encephalopathies, among others, an essential reason to take care of health by performing planned physical activity. A three-month experiment was developed at the Diego Portales University, in 2015, in Santiago de Chile, with a universe of male and female population aged from 20 to 60 years, applying a submaximal strength program made by the author of the experiment of three times a week with an hour duration, measuring blood pressure with a pre-test and post-test at the beginning and end of the training process, also measuring blood pressure before training and immediately at the end of it. Theresults obtained for blood pressures at the end of the intervention revealed a decrease in mean blood pressures (systolic and diastolic) of 5and6 mmHg respectively, because of the chronic adaptability of the organism towards muscle strength exercise, which shows that performing resistance exercise significantly benefits blood pressure in the long term.
