Didactic actions for catchers in baseball under-15 years category

Abstract
Baseball is one of the most popular sports worldwide, and the development of catchers is fundamental to the success of teams. However, in the sub-15 category, it has been observed that catchers present difficulties in technical-tactical aspects, which affects their performance and the team's results. The objective of this study was to develop a system of didactic actions to enhance the performance of sub-15 baseball catchers. The existing problem lay in the need to have more effective and motivating training strategies that would improve the skills of the catchers. Scientific methods such as analytical-synthetic, systemic-structural-functional, survey, interview, observation, data analysis, and statistical methods were used. The proposal is characterized by a comprehensive approach that addressed in an articulated way different dimensions of the teaching-learning process of the sport. It was based on solid pedagogical, psychological, and didactic principles, considering the psychopedagogical characteristics of the catchers at this stage of development. The proposal was articulated to the context, optimizing the material and organizational conditions of the training. In conclusion, it was possible to generate high levels of satisfaction and motivation in the catchers, which has translated into an improvement in their technical-tactical performance and sports results. This showed that the training has become more meaningful and stimulating for the athletes. Similarly, the inclusion of participatory activities and the implementation of periodic evaluations have favored the development of tactical and leadership skills in the athletes.
